A report that popped up on Boy Genius Report today showed some stats for Google’s upcoming Nexus 4G and without really naming a source for the information or a carrier that will be selling the phone. The Nexus 4G is a “super-thin” Smartphone that appears to have no buttons, like the ones under the screen on previous versions, a dual-core processor and running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Another very noticeable feature of the new phone will be the huge 4-inch screen and will reportedly have a 720p HD resolution.
The dual-core processor is going to be 1.2 GHz or 1.5 GHz as reported, but could be a chip from Qualcomm Snapdragon called, “Krait”. Some of the stats are quite incredible and include one full GB of RAM, 1080p video capture and playback, 1MP camera in the front and a 5MP camera on the back.
The Smartphone is going to have no buttons and this is concerning some that actually have become partial to the buttons seen on previous versions from Google. The home, search, back and menu buttons are now going to be part of the software on the Android phone. The point behind Google moving from physical buttons is said to be part of their initiative to blend the Android Tablet and Android Phone software platforms with the Ice Cream Sandwich update.
