The company gave other additional details on the program as well, which it first announced in June.

The changes are aimed at creating greater alignment of the organization, and streamlining its operations to better position the company for future growth and profitability.

The maker of Blackberry mobile devices has faced increased pressure from devices like Apple’s iPhone and smartphones based on Google’s Android operating system, among other competitors.

Robin Bienfait will maintain her responsibilities as CIO of Blackberry operations, customer service and corporate IT functions, and will additionally take on responsibility for the enterprise business unit. Read more
